MY DAY OUT SHOPPING :) :)

Good morning friends!! Have a happy and lovely Sunday!! Today I am going to write about how my shopping date was. In a word, it was excellent!!! But, I am sure you all are wanting to know more. So read on....
I went to THE NEW B.K. MARKET. (YOU'LL HAVE TO GOOGLE THE DETAILS.)
I took a friend with me because it is absolutely boring to go shopping for clothes on your own(unless you have to!) Plus my little friend is very fashion-conscious too. He helps me with what clothes and colors really suit my skin tone. So shopping is never boring!!!
THE NEW B.K. MARKET is where you will get everything trendy under one roof.But, it's only for western wear. Plus the prices are reasonable, and you can negotiate. It's a wholesale and retail market, after all.
I bought four items of clothing for about 1400. I am not gonna give away what I bought, but surely, they are fabulous!! From bags to shoes to western clothes, everything is so colorful! But they are unbranded and from Bangkok, Thailand and such other places. But they are trendy nevertheless.
What I found interesting other than all these was a fake LULU GUINESS CLUTCH  in pink shade. It is from a shop  called GOLDEN GIRLS, basement and they priced it at 950 bucks. Very trendy fuchsia pink rexine clutch, and quite big. They are willing to negotiate the price. Check it out, if you must. But I did not buy it because I am unsure about carrying it in public.
You may be overawed by the variety, but please do not choose clothes which will not suit you. Try them on in the trial room. AND BARGAIN IF YOU MUST!!!

LOOK OF THE DAY 3#

Hey friends!! I have missed you all!!
As you all know that I had a shopping date with my very dear friend. I had been planning on this for some time now but never got the chance. Well, today was a lucky lucky day!! First of all my friend was free!! The weather was cloudy( a bit humid though), But not so sunny!! I quickly had my  lunch and met him  and both of us went to my favorite shopping destination in Kolkata -THE NEW B.K. MARKET.
Why it is my favorite??Because I get a variety of colorful things at this market which you might get in shopping malls but at higher prices. Well, let me not stray from the topic.( i will write about this market in my next post.)






I knew that shopping is an arduous task as you have to hop from one shop to another to find the best things at best prices. i had initially thought of wearing my brother's over-sized tee but eventually I changed my plan.(Girls are forever indecisive about clothes) So I zeroed in on a favorite statement tee( I used to hoard statement tees like anything!!!). It is not black, but a combination of black  and deep purple( dark colors look great on my skin tone), and combined it with a skinny fit purple jeans. See, the clothes were very casual and comfortable, and I am a very jeans-and-tee kind of girl, but I wanted to look different( I have this problem!!) So I decided to accessorize!! No earrings or bracelet, please!! It's already so hot!! But I wore my metallic watch and two funky rings( one white and one red) . That's all for jewelry! I kept my hair open and tied it later on( as I was feeling very hot). Now, you may say. what's different in this look??
My dear friends, I haven't written this post for nothing!! The heroes of my total outfit were my shoes and my shades!! I knew I had to wear something comfortable as I would have to walk a lot. Normally girls would opt for flats or  sandals, flip-flops or sneakers or belles. But I decided to jazz up my look by wearing boots. YES!! YOU HEARD ME RIGHT!! Boots. It is a common notion that you can wear boots at only some places and only in winter. Wrong. My other objective of writing this post was to dispel any such notions. I am used to walking in very high heels and these boots I had bought about seven months back from B.K. MARKET itself for 700 bucks. I wore them extensively last winter and wear them in summers also.
I did not carry my usual brown tinted shades, but a bubblegum pink one which I bought from NEW MARKET for I guess about a hundred bucks or so. The exciting thing about it is that they look like aviators and are absolutely transparent!!!! ( You will understand  upon checking my pics)







My make up was minimal, only Kohl and lip gloss. Baby lips is the way to go!!
And it would be wrong to miss out my lovely tote bag which I had bought from COAST, MAIDAN outlet for 350 bucks.The trendy thing about it is that it is a very lovely orange colour with  the words "FEMME FATALE" written on it. (so me!!)




And yes I forgot!! My statement tee was an eye catcher. Any guesses why?? It was because it had the words "THANKS MOM FOR ALL THE GOOD LOOKS" written on them!! I really owe my mom big time. She is really very beautiful and I consider myself lucky to take after her.

A PEEL OF FACE MASK LIKE NO OTHER!!!!

In today's hectic lifestyle, it is very difficult to follow a thorough skin care regime. This is often disastrous for our skin, leading to a dull, lack-luster skin and a variety of skin problems. Now I am going to write about a peel off mask that has improved the quality of my skin considerably.

• PRODUCT NAME: PONDS WHITE BEAUTY PEEL OFF MASK
• PACKAGING: IT IS A TUBE WITH THE PATENT PONDS PINK AND WHITE LOOK.
• HOW DOES IT LOOK LIKE: TRANSPARENT, THICK GEL LIKE FORMULATION.

• PRICE: RS.99 (but i got it from a departmental store at RS. 92 ONLY!!!)
• HOW TO APPLY: First, cleanse your face thoroughly and dry your face. Then take the peel off gel and apply an even layer to your face and allow it to dry completely. It is best if you apply a thick layer as it will help the mask to peel off easily. Allow it to dry completely. This should take about fifteen to twenty minutes and then peel it off gently and carefully. Wash your face and feel the glow!!!
• PROS: 

1. Effective peel off mask
2. Gives instant glow
3. Makes skin squeaky clean
4. Also helps in removing blackheads to some extent

• CONS:

1. Glow lasts only for a few hours
2. does not really improve skin texture.

• LAST WORD: GO FOR IT. It's better than most other peel off masks out there. have been using it for a year now, and will go on to buy a next tube also. Once I stopped using it for a month or two, and my skin became a bit lack luster. I use it about two times a week. You can use it for upto three times a week. But, it is better not to use it on broken and sensitive skin and keep it out of reach of children.

Heyya girls!! I had promised earlier that I'll be back in my new post with a super duper lipstick at an affordable price for all those of you who do not wish to invest too much money in a lipstick. Well, I never break promises and so here I am!!
Today, I am going to write about an awesome lipstick that is clearly my favorite because it DOES offer super duper shine at an awesome price. Read on to find out:

• PRODUCT NAME: ORIFLAME POWER SHINE SATIN LIPSTICK
• SHADE:  ULTRA PINK
• LOOK: A SLEEK LIPSTICK IN A SILVER COVER
• COLOR: RICH SHINY PINK.(BRING ON THE GLAM!!!!)
• CAN BE WORN: AT DAYTIME OR NIGHT TIME. PEOPLE ARE SURE TO NOTICE YOUR LIPS (in a good sense :P!!!)
• TEXTURE: RICH, CREAMY SMOOTH
• PRICE: GOT IT ON DISCOUNT AT ONLY RS.249. (original price is RS.379 or something. I really forgot!!) I just got it about four or five months back.
• PROS: It has a triple enriched core, that provides smooth application and stays for long. Plus the colour is awesome fair and medium skinned people. There are more shades available, so please check out for offers. Travel friendly and delivers awesome for peanuts price.
• CONS: nothing really.
• TIP: since it is very very smooth, do line your lips first with  a lip liner and then proceed to fill it in with the lipstick.
• MY COMMENTS: Nothing. Just GO FOR IT!! Next I will buy a rich red colour if I find it on offer again.

ORIFLAME VERY ME COVER UP CONCEALER PRODUCT REVIEW

Yes I know I am very very late, but I had some other commitments today. But here I am,to discuss in today's post about a concealer that comes at a very cheap price. Read on to find out if it's really worth it:

I have never used a concealer before, but when I was flipping through the glossy pages of ORIFLAME'S monthly product magazine, I couldn't help but notice that there was this concealer at an awesomely cheap price, so cheap that it doesn't even hurt to shell out the money. I thought to myself, okay, let's try this one out. I am talking about the VERY ME CONCEALER by ORIFLAME.




 Let me brief you about it in points:

1. Packaging/Look: It looks like a sketch pen with a green cap and black body. :) It is actually a pen-concealer, that has a roll-on base. (Very pocket-friendly).
2. Shades: I have a fair complexion, so I opted for the LIGHT shade. It is also available in DARK shade.
3. Texture: Light, creamy texture, easily blends with the skin using fingertips.
4. Price: I know you all have been waiting to hear about this FIRST. I bought it on offer at Rs. 138. I guess the original price was something like 300 bucks or so. :P

It can be used on a regular basis for office, day wear or for a night out. It does cover under eye dark circles well, but is not so effective on pimples, moles or birthmarks, stretch marks.
To use it, first apply it in the areas around you eyes( refer to my blog post on HOW TO DO THE CLASSIC WINGED EYELINER LOOK and check out the picture.) Then, using your fingertips, blend it well in circular motions, upward and outward.( As you would apply a cream.) Let it set for sometime, and then go on to apply you foundation.
I am not very satisfied with the product. It does hide dark circles and brightens up the face, but its effect is very limited. I really do not need much concealer(thankfully) and so I am not really going to buy a new concealer for now. Though I will use this one for my eye makeup tutorials.( Dark and dull eyes are a strict no-no.)

 Before wrapping up this post. let me list the pro and cons for you:
PROS:

• Cheap
• Can be carried easily
• pen-like concealer helps in easy application
• blends well
• helps hide dark circles
• matte finish so helps absorb oil and shine

CONS:

• not effective on birthmarks, moles, pimples, stretch marks
• should have been available in more shades to help match skin tones easily.

FINAL WORD: If you have serious skin issues, you should not buy this product. And, plese take care of your diet and get enough sleep and exercise!!! :)

GET RID OF BLACK HEADS!! NOW!!!!

I know black heads is a nagging problem many girls face. It makes us look oh-so-unpretty. Now I am going to tell you about a super simple and super easy step to remove black heads. All in under fifteen minutes!!
No, you got me wrong. I am not going to write about those time consuming, not-everyone's-cup-of-tea beauty masks for getting rid of blackheads. All I am telling you is to go out and get these: CETTUA SILKY AND CLEAR NOSE STRIP WITH WITCH HAZEL.







These are amazing. The price varies from RS.35 TO RS.20 per strip (costly), but in my area I get it for RS.20 per strip. These have clear directions for use which I am writing here:

• wash your face and thoroughly wet the nose area
• apply strip to nose with the smooth side down, pressing down to ensure good contact with skin
• let it dry for about fifteen twenty minutes(fifteen minutes work just fine.)
• the strip should feel stiff as it dries
• after the strip is dried, carefully peel off the strip starting at the edges, pulling toward center.

Caution:

1. Do not apply on wounds or damaged skin
2. avoid using on sensitive skin
3. keep out of reach of children. For external use only.

These nose strips are quite effective. I like them so much that I buy them five or six at a time. I use them every six days and you can use them as often as you require.( Do not use regularly). Once a week or twice a week is good. It removes dirt, grime and oil from your nose area and once you have removed the strip, you CAN ACTUALLY see the dirt grime and oil on the strip.

ACCESSORIZE ACCESSORIZE!!!

Yes, now I am going to show you what accessories I wore for LOOK OF THE DAY 2#. Remember, girls, that accessories can make or break any look. Over various posts I'll show you how to look edgy and stylish with simple accessories. When heading to buy accessories, always question yourself," Is it really worth it?" mentally think of any two dresses or looks that you think it will go very nicely with. If these answers come to you instantly, and you are pleased with yourself, then I'd say you've made a good choice. But, it's no use buying an expensive bag or piece of jewelry or shoes if you can't mix or match. Secondly. you should know if you are allergic to any metal jewelry (copper, silver etc.). Just because you've read my blog, and because I'm sporting copper bracelets, doesn't mean you'll have to buy it even if you are allergic to it.
Anyways, now getting back to the topic of my post, you'll probably remember that i had worn a flowing maxi dress in bright orange and a cropped leopard print pink jacket. I had done a beehive hairdo withe the winged eyeliner look and I really did not want to wear every piece of jewelry I had just to attract attention (in a wrong way!!)
So, I chose not to wear any earrings and kept my neck hassle free. I could have worn a statement neck piece, but it really doesn't go well with maxi dresses. So I wore a simple long locket with a golden chain gifted to me by my aunt from Singapore. (I just love it!!) It adds the right amount of pizzazz to your look!
I did not wear any bangles, cuffs or bracelets and only wore a big ,diamond shaped ring which I picked off the flea market in Gariahat for only sixty or seventy bucks. I don't remember because I bought two rings together. It is a love teal-green combo that is an instant attention grabber.









Since my maxi dress has a flowing silhouette and my whole look was very bright, I chose to go neutral with the heels. I had picked up this lovely pair of tan heels at a sale in Forum, INC.5 for only 700 bucks and they are totally worth it. It is a bit angular, and suits hourglass or boyish frames. It does NOT look good with Indian wear, but looks very good with bright long dresses or skinny fit jeans and a khakee top.(I will try and show you another look to go with this shoe). But let me tell you, it is probably not even three inch heels, but I had to wear it all day. So wear heels only and only if you are comfortable enough with them. You don't want to get a sprained foot and sit in a corner all day and miss out on the fun.
