LOOK OF THE DAY 2#

What have you gorgeous girls been doing today?? Well, for me, I was very very busy today. i had a conference to attend with my Dad at THE PARK HOTEL, Kolkata and so I could not post anything new the whole day.
You all must be wondering what I wore today. I am going to write about that in this post. So, read on to find out.......
THE PARK hotel is a very posh place, and though it wasn't any formal party sort of thing, I decided to wear a maxi dress. But there was one problem. It is fully air conditioned and we had to stay there from morning till evening. So would I rule the option of wearing my newly purchased maxi dress?? No, never.



I decided to wear a cropped body hugging jacket with it. The maxi dress is AWESOME!! It is very very simple looking, which makes it all the more lovely. And the colour is a hot trend this season-ORANGE. (Girls I strongly feel that you all must invest in atleast one accessory of this colour.) It is very very long and made of lycra material with no detailing and thin spaghetti straps. It is a low cut dress which makes it all the more sexy. I bought it online from myntra.com for a great price of Rs.500. (yay!! I got it on offer!!)
I teamed it up with a short jacket in another very trendy colour-NEON PINK!!!!! And the jacket has leopard print all over it. (Yes!! I know I picked all the correct fashion trends!!)
The two colours look very very trendy when worn together. It makes the whole look pop. Since I wore such a bright attire I wore nude heels which I bought on sale from INC.5 at an awesome price of Rs.700 only!!!
Oh. I forgot to mention about the jacket. I bought it from a stall in a fair in our locality only about two months ago for a mere 120 bucks. It was a thrift shop and I paid peanuts for the jacket I think. But girls, while thrift shopping be careful to purchase things that will suit you and don't get lured by the cheap prices. The jacket is originally from NO CODE, a very famous fashion label.
My accessories were also very simple. I just wore a long chain with a bejewelled poodle locket, a gift from my aunt in Singapore. ( She always gives me amazing things!!!). I did not wear any earrings as I didn't want to shift the focus from the chain. I wore a large ring on my left hand middle finger.( Normally I wear
 two chunky rings.)
Now I come to the most interesting part: makeup. My make up was fairly simple- I did the classic winged eyeliner look and did not line the waterline of my eyes with kohl because sometimes, you just need to focus on the nuances of each look. I LAKME POP TINTS PINK FUCHSIA lipstick and the colour is very very nice. It looks really good on fair skin. :)
I am very inspired by the AMY WINEHOUSE LOOK and attempted to do a 60's style beehive bun, and yes it worked!! It looked awesome with the dress and my hair did not get dirty at all. And this look also lasted the whole day!!!
I could not take many pics but I share with you some of the pics I could manage to take. And yes, I took a bright teal sling bag which i purchased for 500 bucks from B.K. MARKET, Kolkata. ( I simply love the colour!!!)

GET GLOWING SKIN IN MINUTES!!!

       I am going to write about a product that changed my life forever. I have been using this ever since I was in school (class 6) to be precise and I use it even now. It is a simple, cheap and effective product that will transform your skin miraculously. When I was a child, I used to have lots of pimples and blackheads on my skin and used to be very depressed about it. I tried a lot of medication, went to a lot of dermatologists, but it didn't really help. Until the time my mother suggested me to use Dabur Gulabari Gulab Jal. It is a rose water toner that you can use as many times a day you want to. It effectively cleanses your skin to get rid of dirt and grime and so you can flaunt glowing skin.

• PACKAGING: The packaging of the product hasn't changed over the years. It is still the pretty pink and white transparent bottle.
• HOW DOES IT LOOK LIKE? : The toner is actually nothing but mainly distilled water with rose essence. It looks just like water, only with a rosy scent.
• DIRECTIONS FOR USE: You can use it in many ways. It can be used for cleansing your face with a cotton pad, with face pack for extra radiance or with glycerin for soft, glowing skin. I use it regularly for two three times a day with a cotton pad to enhance the glow of my skin and once in a while I use it with face packs. But I'll tell you one more way to use it to make your peepers look great-take some rose water in a small bowl and soak two thin, big pieces of cotton (large enough to cover your eyes) in it. After some time, take them out, squeeze out the excess rose water from the cotton pads and place them over your eyes. Keep this for fifteen minutes on your tired eyelids. When you open your eyes, you'll feel instantly refreshed!
• INGREDIENTS: Aqua, Fragrance(Rooh Gulab), Rose oil, Propylene Glycol, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Bronopol.

LOOK OF THE DAY 1#

                      Yesterday I was so busy so I could not post anything. But today I should let you know about what I wore yesterday. I had gone shopping with my friend, and so I wanted to wear something casual and fun. But I am a simple jeans-and-top girl and the first thing I always reach out for in my wardrobe is my regular pair of jeans and top. But I thought to myself, let's funk it up a bit!!!

                      I dressed up in a jiffy and wore bright red colored denims with a peach coloured top. It is a very pretty combination, and out-of-the box too!!So do try it out!!! The denim I wore is from a local market, you get them almost everywhere these days. The fit is just awesome!! ( A lot actually depends on your denim too. Ill fitting denims are a no-no.)

                     The top I wore is also from a local store but its very pretty. Its a light cream and peach coloured top with a PeterPan collar and lace detail. The fun part about the top is, the back of the top has such pretty little bows stitched to it. I'll show you how:

                  I have many coloured denims -purple,red pink and khakee cloured. they are so much in fashion that i'll buy some more!! Plus the top that I wore is also very stylish-the Peter Pan collar neckline is a steal. Try to wear dresses and tops with the Peter Pan collar to show off your ultra-feminine side. :)

                    I have very long hair and I did not want to leave it open. So I thought of tying it into a bun. It's never been an easy task for me because my hair is silky. Often when I did manage to tie my hair in a bun, it would not stay for more than twenty minutes.( even with hairpins!!) But yesterday, i first combed my hair and tied it in a pony-tail. Then I applied a lot of serum and hairspray to my hair to get a strong hold. Then I tied my pony in a plait and secured it with an elastic band. Finally I twisted the plait on top of my head and tied it into a messy bun and secured it with a lot, lot of hairpins. I loved it sooo much that i accesorized it with mini hair clips :) :)

                The happiest part was when the hair-do lasted for the whole day!!!!! Yippeeee!!!

                 I wore minimal accesories like a wrist watch and I have a thing for rings. Currently, I like wearing two chunky rings on the same hand. It's so trendy. Every girl should stock up on accessories. 

                I took a simple black rexine bag with white handles because I didn't want my whole look to be too flashy and wore simple waterproof silver sequinned slippers.

START YOUR DAY WITH SURYA NAMASKAR

A very very good morning to all my lovely friends out there. Hope you slept well. Today I am going to discuss about the benefits of Surya Namaskar or the Sun Salutation pose. It is an integral part of yoga and consists of twelve poses. Each set has twelve poses. ( Means if you do the whole Surya Namaskar for twelve times, you'll end up doing the total thing 144 times.) Yoga, especially Surya Namaskar is very very effective in reducing out body weight and helping us to manage weight sustainably. I have personally tried out the Surya Namaskar ( I have been doing it for the last five years now.) The effect has been tremendous. I am  slimmer, fitter, have better skin and hair, and feel calmer and more confident. I do not ask you to do rigorous exercise for two hours everyday. All I am asking you to do is: get up early in the morning, brush your teeth , get rid of that weariness and just take out fifteen minutes of your day to do this. Friends, you'll see the improvement in you in a month!

• So what does this Surya Namaskar entail???- Each set of Surya Namaskar consists of twelve different poses that have to be done in quick succession, like a dance. Initially you may forget, but after repeating the procedure for two three times, you will see that you are able to do it very easily without forgetting.
• What should I wear while doing this? Preferably loose breathe easy clothes. They should also be fuss-free. I do it wearing a loose top and pajama pants.
•  How many times in a day should we do this? Try doing twelve rounds at a  time. For your information, the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor, an ardent devotee of Yoga does this around 100 times at once. :)

When will I see the results? Do not expect miracles in a day. Try it for a month and see the improvement for yourself. Do it regularly and reap benefits for a life time. :)
I am posting a picture of how to do the Surya Namaskar. It is said that you recite some mantras while doing this routine. But when i do it, i just do it calmly without reciting anything. It gives just about the same results!!

A NEW ANTI DARKENING CREAM THAT HAS HIT THE MARKET. CHECK IT OUT!!

FEM ANTI DARKENING HAIR REMOVAL CREAM FOR SENSITIVE SKIN-REVIEW

We all like to look beautiful. (Always!!) But there is this problem of unwanted hair on our hands and legs. So, it’s no wonder that girls these days use various hair removal creams. But most girls complain about their skin feeling dry and flaky with the continued use of such hair removal creams. Also there is the problem of skin darkening cause by these creams.

I have a wedding to attend today and so I am doing my best to look my best. J . Of course, I am going to wear a traditional Indian sari (Can there be anything better than that??) I even got a new blouse stitched. I really don’t have much hair on my hands and legs but since my blouse is a sleeveless and sexy one, I thought it better to depilate my underarms. (Else it would really look uncouthly: O)

So I went to the nearest departmental store and bought Fem Anti Darkening Hair Removal cream for sensitive skin. Does it really prevent skin darkening along with hair removal?? Read on to find out....

Since I am using this brand for the first time, I thought it better to buy a small pack. It is a purple and pink box (cute coloursJ) . It is reasonably priced at only Rs.45 for 40gms.

Net contents: One jar of hair removal cream, one gentle care spatula, two 5gms sachet moisturizer and one instruction leaflet. (Oops, I threw the instruction leaflet away!!)

The jar is pink and white in colour (very basic) and the cream inside is creamy pink (mind you, it’s not for eating: P). When you open the jar, you will be overwhelmed by a rosy scent <3

The spatula is also small and cute and pink in colour. The sachet of moisturizer is for post hair removal, enriched with liquorice and jojoba oil. The moisturiser is peach in colour and has a faint smell. (Can’t say distinctively).

Ingredients: The key ingredients (as mentioned in the pack) are Jojoba oil and liquorice extracts. I am not mentioning the other ingredients as you will get to know when you buy the product. Jojoba oil is known for its moisturisation properties whereas liquorice prevents skin darkening. The rose extracts are soothing for sensitive skin.

Directions for use: A patch test is recommended if you are using it for the first time. I have sensitive skin but I didn’t do the patch test. I didn’t have enough time!!! So I directly applied it on my underarms. No eruptions so far  J J. The instructions  are clearly given on the box as well as in the instruction leaflet (in details). Since I am too lazy to read, I just opened the box and applied the cream evenly on my underarms with the spatula. It is recommended to wait for 2minutes at least, but I waited for a minute more before removing the cream. After this, I washed the area with tap water and dried it with a towel. I could still smell the lovely rosy scent, minus any skin irritations in the area. Then I applied the moisturizer and discovered soft smooth skin.

My experience with the product: Pretty good. Since I have sensitive skin, I have to be very careful about what I use. Once I remember using a particular brand of hair removal cream on my underarms and my skin became itchy and erupted badly. But no such experience with this product. About the anti-darkening properties, I am yet to find out because I have only used this once and also because I am quite fair and without patchy skin.(*touchwood) But, if you are thinking that this anti-darkening cream will make you fair and lovely, you are wrong. It cannot revert prolonged negligence of skin and improper skin care regime. But if you are looking for a hair removal cream that does not leave patchy skin and cause skin irritations, this is definitely it.

Let me now brief you about the pros and cons of this product.

Pros:

·        Attractive packaging

·        Nice smell

·        Really suitable for sensitive skin

·        Gives a soft and smooth finish

·        Does not cause further skin darkening

·        Reasonably priced

Cons:

·        Cannot revert skin darkening caused already

Nothing else, really. And please remember that if you have already patches on your skin caused by other hair removal creams, consult a dermatologist. Always remember, prevention is better than cure.

Will I buy this product? : Yes, I feel fine with it. So next time I am going to buy a bigger bottle.

L’OREAL PARIS PERFECT CLEAN FOAMING GEL WASH- A REVIEW

                           It’s raining cats and dogs here.  And the weather is very  cool and romantic. The rainy season tends to make my skin even more oily (yuck!!) Today, my grandmother gave me a little something. No, it’s not an natural hand-me-down beauty tip, but a very effective foaming gel wash from L’OREAL PARIS. She got it from my aunt in Singapore and after trying it today, I’m absolutely loving it. J J

PACKAGING: It comes in a transparent bottle with a scrublet to scrub away your dead skin cells. It has a very sophisticated look. The scrublet looks like a brush with bristles and is very rubbery and flexible.

HOW THE FACE WASH LOOKS LIKE: It is a translucent aqua blue colour with a subtle fragrance, not too overpowering.

RECOMMENDED FOR : Normal or Combination skin. If you have oily skin, this is just the product for you!! \m/

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Pour a little amount of the gel face wash onto the scrublet.  Scrub your skin with this in round, circular motion for about five minutes. Wash with cold water to discover a radiant and velvety smooth skin. Use atleast twice a day.

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS:  The product claims to give  a clean sensation, make the pores look smaller and give velvety smooth skin.

WHAT I FELT AFTER USING THE PRODUCT: The product is really good. Firstly, it does not create a stinging sensation on my face, and after washing my face I really found that my skin was softer and smoother. KUDOS!! Plus the scrublet is a new addition which can take away all dead skin cells from your skin and reveal new skin.

WILL I BUY IT AGAIN: The face wash will last easily for a month and a half. And I also have to check out whether it is available in India, especially in Kolkata. I am sure that it is not available locally, so I might have to rush to shopping malls L But, then, I can always tell my aunt to bring me another one!! J
