START YOUR DAY WITH SURYA NAMASKAR

A very very good morning to all my lovely friends out there. Hope you slept well. Today I am going to discuss about the benefits of Surya Namaskar or the Sun Salutation pose. It is an integral part of yoga and consists of twelve poses. Each set has twelve poses. ( Means if you do the whole Surya Namaskar for twelve times, you'll end up doing the total thing 144 times.) Yoga, especially Surya Namaskar is very very effective in reducing out body weight and helping us to manage weight sustainably. I have personally tried out the Surya Namaskar ( I have been doing it for the last five years now.) The effect has been tremendous. I am  slimmer, fitter, have better skin and hair, and feel calmer and more confident. I do not ask you to do rigorous exercise for two hours everyday. All I am asking you to do is: get up early in the morning, brush your teeth , get rid of that weariness and just take out fifteen minutes of your day to do this. Friends, you'll see the improvement in you in a month!


  • So what does this Surya Namaskar entail???- Each set of Surya Namaskar consists of twelve different poses that have to be done in quick succession, like a dance. Initially you may forget, but after repeating the procedure for two three times, you will see that you are able to do it very easily without forgetting.
  • What should I wear while doing this? Preferably loose breathe easy clothes. They should also be fuss-free. I do it wearing a loose top and pajama pants.
  •  How many times in a day should we do this? Try doing twelve rounds at a  time. For your information, the gorgeous Kareena Kapoor, an ardent devotee of Yoga does this around 100 times at once. :)
When will I see the results? Do not expect miracles in a day. Try it for a month and see the improvement for yourself. Do it regularly and reap benefits for a life time. :)
I am posting a picture of how to do the Surya Namaskar. It is said that you recite some mantras while doing this routine. But when i do it, i just do it calmly without reciting anything. It gives just about the same results!!
