LOOK OF THE DAY 4#

Finally I am here with my latest outfit post!!!! I went to GALAXY, THE PARK, yesterday for an exhibition that was held there. And we all know, yesterday was rainy and muddy!!!! So I did not want to be too dressy and yet look posh. I combined three simple outfits to get a whole simple and classy look. Read on to find out:











I do not like to wear half sleeved tops or dresses, usually. Yesterday I opted for a casual striped tank top with my favorite pair of blue denims(skinny fit). The grey and black combination tank top can be worn with almost anything from skirts, jeans, hot pants to even a large flowy skirt(think boho-chic) :) :0
I got it for 150 bucks from B.K.MARKET and the denims I am wearing are from SREERAM ARCADE, NEW MARKET. i BOUGHT IT ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AND CAN EAT, LIVE AND SLEEP IN THEM!! I got it for only 500 bucks.








Since it was rainy yesterday and I have issues with wearing half-sleeved clothes, I paired up the tank-top and jeans with a lovely leopard print jacket that I grabbed from my cousin sister's closet and now it's mine!! The jacket is a grey and black leopard print one that I absolutely love!!!! It can be paired with a classy black tee underneath for a party at night. It is from FOREVER 21, and must have cost a fortune.








Rainy day means no leather bags. So I took my classic black and white waterproof bag from PERLINI, SINGAPORE, gifted to me by my aunt.

I wore no makeup but heavily lined my waterline with kohl from LAKME ABSOLUTE (Rs.675) and wore a chunky black finger ring which i got from SUDDER STREET, for 250 bucks. And I also wore statement earrings and no neckpieces. I always wear my chunky metal watch these days, so no special mention!!!

I kept my hair fuss-free as I didn't want it to get polluted by leaving it open. So I tied it in a low ponytail after making a mini beehive . (JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH!!!)

I wore simple silver, sparkly slippers from BATA, and that's just about it!! Have a happy Sunday!!!!

And yes, here I include my latest nail art which I am sporting on my right hand. ONLY. I have issues with wearing nail paint on my left hand. :P :P

FASHION FOR A RAINY DAY

Hello friends!! Rainy days are here! For some of you it's not fun at all because you have to battle the odds, mud, splish-splash and constant drizzle to make it to work, college etc. Sometimes, most of your plans are stalled because of the rains and sometimes, you just can't decide what to wear!!!! For you, the rains only mean grays, drab and dull. Not anymore!! Here are some of my tips to help you strut your stuff in style, even during the rains!!!

CLOTHES: Monsoon calls for breathe-easy, non-fussy wear. College girls can opt for day dresses, capris with funky message tees etc. For a formal look, try wearing knee length kurtas with leggings. Avoid wearing the traditional salwar kameez with dupatta to work. No dupatta, no fuss. Dress in bright colors like pinks, yellows , blues, greens, but not pastels. Avoid wearing sheer tops (you know why.) Avoid wearing the color white (at all costs.) You can also invest in cute colored hot pants for a casual day out!!

For college going boys, wear knee length cargos and loose pants. Harem pants are also in.  Pair them with an over sized message tee. Formal wear need not be light blue, gray, white as they get easily stained during rain. Wear bright shirts to wore and pair them with slim fit trousers. You even get some waterproof trousers.:) :)

SHOES: Girls and boys, be bright and wear waterproof. Ditch leather, suede, and killer heels. Girls can choose from a  range of flipflops covered waterproof belles, waterproof boots(think printed!!!) 

Boys can get super comfortable in crocs(neon green :) ), boots (waterproof) or galoshes.

ACCESSORIES: Girls can brighten up their look by taking bright bags. Opt for nylon or rexine material only as they are waterproof. Boys can use waterproof backpacks for a casual day out.

Umbrellas can go funky!! Girls and boys alike can carry transparent, printed umbrellas. Printed, colorful umbrellas or umbrellas in solid colors are very very in.( yellows, bright greens, electric blues etc.)

Girls should avoid wearing jewelry that gets tarnished very easily. Avoid silver and oxidized jewelry and opt for plastic or beaded jewelry.

Don't wear watches with leather or steel wristbands. Opt for watches with plastic wristbands instead.

MAKE UP: Go minimal and waterproof. That is the mantra for this season. Avoid wearing too much foundation that makes your skin look oily. Opt for a matte look instead. Waterproof mascara is a must as you don't want your eyes to get smudged. Don't wear too heavy eye makeup. A dash of blue eye shadow can add a pop of color to your eyes. Always carry wet wipes, sanitizer, comb and a clean handkerchief during this season.

Hey lovelies!! Today's post is straight from the heart!!! I always feel that you should always wear bright clothes. Wear bright clothes and look younger. But most of you are confused about what to wear with what. Sometimes you end up wearing same drab old clothes as you don't really understand what to wear and are afraid that you might end up looking awkward. Well, here I am to help you with a color guide to carry off the bright clothes!!!! Some great combinations are:

BLUE + BLACK: These are two 'safe' hues. We usually wear them like blue top, black jeans or black top and blue jeans. But, you could do the new by taking a blue sling bag with your classic LBD, or even wear blue heels!!!

RED+ PINK: Too bold for you? Not really. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WEAR FUCHSIA PINK WITH BRIGHT RED!! You can colour block by wearing a pastel pink top and a pretty bright red sailor skirt or red pants.

ORANGE+GREEN: Tangerine is very 'in' now. You can make a style statement by wearing a classic bottle green dress with tangerine pumps for a dash of color. You can even add mismatched jewelry to add a double shot of espresso to your look.

YELLOW+ PURPLE: Yellow yellow dirty fellow?? Not really!!! I am so lusting for a bright yellow bag and bright yellow heels!! Yellow and purple are at the exact opposite ends of the color spectrum, which makes them pleasing to the eyes when seen together. However, you wouldn't want to wear royal purple and sunshine yellow together.

TURQUOISE+PINK: Love this combo!! Channel a simply pretty to super sexy look with these two colors as they are feminine and fashion-forward, all at once. :)

EASY TO MAKE COLD COFFEE IN TEN MINUTES!!!!

Hows the weather treating you friends?? One day its too hot and the other day its all rainy. Yuck!! This hot and humid weather makes us feel thirsty and only water is not not enough to quench our thirst. We long to have some cool, tasty drink. Hence we head out to our favorite cafe and order a cold coffee to cool ourselves. But, have you ever tried making one at home? No, you'll think, its too complicated and needs a lot of expertise. Wrong!!! Today I am going to teach you a recipe to make cold coffee instantly, that is exactly as smooth, creamy and frothy as you want it to be. And you don't need to be a great cook to enjoy this in the cosy comfort of your own house!!!






I was wanting to have cold coffee to drink today awfully bad. So I came up with my own idea. I tried it and  bingo!! It was an instant success with my family members.

You'll need:

• Milk-double toned because I want to make it healthy also :) , about 300 ml for two tall glasses 
• Cocoa powder . I  used Weikfield cocoa powder that is low fat about four tbsps
• Coffee. I used instant coffee packets. (BRU Re.1 sachet -four for making two tall glasses)
• ice cubes- I  used about six or seven cubes as I wanted to make chilled coffee
• Sugar - four tbsps. I used Sugarfree four tbsps as I am health conscious :P

That's all!! Now, take all the above ingredients and mix them well using a mixer grinder or hand blender until it becomes frothy ( and yummy!!!)

Now take two tall glasses and pour your cold coffee. Voila!! its ready! 

If you want to give it a more professional look, try decorating it with a dollop of vanilla ice cream and some powdered or grated chocolate. There you go!! Your very own cafe latte or frappe is ready. And I bet it'll taste a lot better than the regular ones you have at your favorite cafes.

I didn't decorate it at all, and as soon as i made it I was so overwhelmed with my mini achievement that I drank it all. So sorry I can't share any picture today.:(

MOTHER DAIRY FRUIT CLASSIC STRAWBERRY CRUSH ICE CREAM

I am in love!! With ice creams, silly!!! It's pure, unbiased and unconditional love. Whenever I am bored, depressed or feeling down, I get myself a cup of sweet, savory ice cream and then, I can't stop feeling happy!!! :) :)
Currently, I am hooked onto MOTHER DAIRY range of ice creams. I have already reviewed their sugar free "fro-yo" type ice cream in my earlier post. Now, I bring to you their delectable fruity range of ice creams. Today I am reviewing STRAWBERRY CRUSH.
This ice cream is NOT SUGAR FREE.(Damn those calories!!) Sometimes, it's just okay to get your mind off your diet. This is a strawberry flavored ice cream with fruit. And big chunky pieces too!!!!
When I started eating it, I kept on looking at it and thought,"IT LOOKS JUST LIKE A NORMAL VANILLA ICE CREAM!!" This you may feel because of the white color.( i had expected it to be a pretty pink.)
It has a subtly sweet, tangy taste, that is oh-so-strawberry. It is soft and creamy and a medium fat frozen dessert.
A CLASSIC FACT: The most 'European' of all fruits, the strawberry gets its name as it appears,to be strewn among the leaves of the plant. The plant  was originally called 'Strewberry' and the name was later changed to 'strawberry'.
CLASSIC INDULGENCE: Sweet succulent strawberries swirl in the rich goodness of MOTHER DAIRY'S creamiest milk. A crush you will never forget. (yes yes yes!!!)

VASELINE HEALTHY WHITE LIGHTENING VISIBLE FAIRNESS LOTION-PRODUCT REVIEW

Good morning!!! It's Monday again!!! Time to rush to school, college and office. We really don't have much time to take care of our skin, do we??? End result: dull, tanned skin. So, today I am going to write about a lotion that claims to give "INSTANT FAIRNESS". Is this lotion the answer to our dull dry tanned skin problems?? Read on to find out:

• PRODUCT NAME: VASELINE HEALTHY WHITE LIGHTENING VISIBLE FAIRNESS LOTION
• PRICE: RS.75 FOR 100 ML ( I bought a small bottle first. I even got a Dove soap free with it. And the departmental store I got it from, charged me RS. 73 for the lotion.)
• FEATURES: 

1. Skin illuminating minerals
2. Yogurt serum
3. Vitamin B3

The product claims to have skin ILLUMINATING MINERALS and TRIPLE SUNSCREEN that gives instantly fairer skin that keeps on getting fairer.

• DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use twice a day for best results.
• WARNINGS: Do not stay too long in the sun, even while using a product with sunscreen. Keep in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. In the unlikely event of a skin irritation, consult a doctor immediately. The product is for external use only.
• MY VIEWS AFTER USING THIS PRODUCT: The product is okay, and does not live up to the high claims. I am fair, but I did not "keep on getting fairer" with this lotion. AT ALL. My father too used this product, and he is medium complexioned and did not achieve significant results. This is not a substitute for a good sunscreen.
• WILL I BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN: I think no. It is better to invest in a costly good SPF sunscreen instead.
• PROS:

2. NICE PACKAGING (PINK AND WHITE AND CREAM COMBINATION)
3. SUBTLE SMELL
4. GOOD MOISTURIZER

• CONS:

1. DOES NOT WORK AS A SUNSCREEN

I am home this Sunday so I thought of posting something new on my blog. I have straight, long hair, but I lust after that chemically straightened  pretty hair which you can still leave open and it won't get messy. But I am not sure about getting any chemical treatments on my hair and so when SUNSILK CO-CREATIONS launched their new range of shampoo and conditioner which claim to give "stunningly straight hair", I thought I might as well try it out.









I bought the shampoo and conditioner on offer and at a discount too. Read on to find out if it really delivers what it claims:

• PRODUCT NAME: SUNSILK CO-CREATIONS PERFECT STRAIGHT SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
• CO-CREATED WITH YUKO YAMASHITA
• PACKAGING: BEAUTIFUL DEEP PURPLE BOTTLE AND TUBE.(you'll fall in love with the colour itself!!)
• PRODUCT FEATURES: both the shampoo and the conditioner have a STRAIGHT LOCK FORMULA that keeps hair straight. The product penetrates deep into the hair, reducing frizz and keeping hair fully aligned as they dry. Results have to be seen to be believed!
• RECOMMENDATIONS: use daily with conditioner for best results.
• PRICE: Rs. 189 for 360 ml for shampoo and Rs. 56 for 90 ml for conditioner. (without discount)
• DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Massage the shampoo onto wet hair, lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow up with the conditioner and rinse off.

Now comes the REAL part. You'll obviously be wanting to know how I felt after using this product. Yes, the product is okay, but not really that good. If you have curly or very curly hair, this product is NOT for you. It will help you to manage frizz to some extent.That's all. If you have straight hair, do not expect that it will give you poker straight hair. I have straight hair and I especially want the ends of my hair to be straight and aligned as well. But the product did not do anything to improve it. Though it does make hair feel soft. And the conditioner smells OH SO GOOD!! The smell will linger in your hair long after you've washed it off. Also, I do not really approve of using it daily.
